JUNCO CARE

The junco we use is in its natural, dried state, without the addition of finishes. This maintains the natural beauty and tactility of the material. The junco tends to develop a beautiful patina of subtle sheen over time.

REGULAR CLEANING
Dust regularly with a microfibre cloth or duster. A vacuum with an upholstery attachment can also be used to remove dust and debris. Any spills should be wiped clean immediately. A clean, damp cloth can be used, being careful not to soak the junco.

 MAINTAIN 50% RELATIVE HUMIDITY
Junco requires optimal humidity levels to avoid cracking and mould growth. Humidity levels should be monitored and controlled in line with the care of solid wood, aiming to maintain a steady 50% relative humidity in the product’s environment. Measure the humidity in the room by using an RH Hygrometer. Hygrometers are low cost and can be purchased widely with a digital or analogue display.

If the humidity in the environment falls below 45%, keep a humidifier next to the piece of furniture to increase the moisture in its environment to 50%. Alternatively, if a humidifier is not available, place a bucket filled with water near the piece of furniture, as this will add humidity to the room as the water evaporates.

A dehumidifier can extract humidity from the environment, as needed. Always aim for 50% relative humidity to create the optimal environment for your junco furniture.

PROTECT FROM DIRECT HEAT/SUNLIGHT
Direct heat and sunlight can cause junco to become too dry, leading to cracking. Limit your junco furniture’s exposure to direct sunlight and heat to maintain its suppleness.
